advert evaluation

For this unit me and my group of 3 made an Adidas advert .To stick to the theme of sport and a very energized atmosphere we chose to create a very fast and upbeat advert. In the advert we start of with a little montage of pedestrians wearing the Adidas product, we did this to portray our logo which is ‘we are london’ meaning that everyone in London owns this Adidas product ,next in the advert we start adding in varies sports from dancing ,skateboarding ,bmx and roller-skating .throughout the advert we made sure we spread out the different shots of the sports and also made sure it was well synced with the music.

Looking at the feedbacks, what really made the advert stand out was the use of music and the focus on certain shots and how me and my group was able vary our shots making it interesting to watch.Another thing was linking the concept of the advert to the product .

What really pleased me about making the video was that although i've filmed other things in the past ,filming an advert was something new to me so it was an experience to look forward to , also being able to help direct, film and edit something that came to win 2nd place in the adverts competition made me very proud . Another thing that made me excited to make the video was because of the devoted team i had , because my team was motivated to do well it also influenced me to put hard work and focus a lot on it.

In the Final adverts i'm very pleased with the skating scenes , the reasons  for this is because out of all scenes it took more effort to film and a lot of planning and after all the hard work in the end it made the advert really stand out .

From the feedbacks i was actually told that the advert wasn't far behind from a professionals advert which really made me happy because that means theres no much things i would have to do if i wanted to  make the advert professional ,like for example the camera used was a cannon 550d with a basic lens ,if it was a professional advert maybe more hi-teck camera's would be used or just even a better lens, Another thing that would have made it look more professional like an exiting adidas advert would be the locations and also the actors , when you have a wide range of people willing to take part with their own adidas outfit you can show more people in one shot wearing adidas but due to the lack of adidas jumpers we had to keep swapping who wore it when.

In our advert the persuasive technique we used was the use of being repetitive , in the advert we made sure the adidas logo was shown at least every 5 seconds , doing this keeps reminding the audience what the advert is about without having to include voice over or text in-between different shots.

Looking at the response it got from the audience that watched it i think it could be successful in selling products

The positive thing about choosing to make an advert for adidas is that it appeals to people of all ages and gender. Although it is rare to find a 90 year old skateboarding and doing stunts adidas is a really old brand and the advert reminds the old people of when they were young and also how something created in their generation is still standing. As for the youths and the teens because most of the time they like following trends so this is a new trend for them follow

In the planning stages we had a lot more ideas to include in the advert but due to some last minute arrangements we had to stick with what we had , i wasn't really happy that this had to happen because personally in my opinion if we had added all the other sports for example boxing and athletic it would have made the advert look more professional and better and preferably would have reached out to more people.
