STOP MOTION!
The Technique i used to in order to create this animation was cut out stop motion. One of the first steps of making this animation was to go through newspapers and and magazines and cut out any images which i thought would make a good story , After doing so i then opened up istopmotion programme on the mac computers and started taking different shots per frame and moving the images around in order to make movement.when we finally completed making the story we imported the video in final cut pro and that's were we added finishing touches for example voice overs and music and general audio. There are many Different animations that have been created with stop motion that have been published on t.v , the very most recent one is the FaceJacker and PhoneJacker , other examples are : South park ,intro to Russell Howards good news and have i got news for you intro.
One of the First people to use stop motion to create animations was Terry Gilliam and Lotte Reiniger. Terry Gilliam created the animation Monty Python and lotte Reiniger created a stop motion animation of Jack the Bean stalk , Both animators used similar techniques to me as in terry Gilliam would cut out different images from articles on the other hand Lotte might have drawn the images because it was for specific characters.
I think the technique we used to create the stop motion was really easy due to the fact we used the images from the newspapers and magazines on the other hand if the images were drawn it would have been a really hard process. In order to make your animation very smooth and look good you have to make little movements as u move the images around and that could also be a disadvantage to stop motion because it takes up to much time.

Motion studies
-Eadward Muybridge was a lecturer and photographer born in 1813, Hes was born in the borough of Kingston upon Thomes. He was Most famous for the invention of Motion Pictures.
He was asked by the mayor to help prove the theory of horses flying whilst they galloped. The way he did this was ,he set up around 24 cameras that all used glass plates and as the horse would go past each camera it would trigger the camera to take a picture, he then took each image from the camera and put it together forming a motion picture
We Made 2 motion pictures , 1 of someone falling over some casually walking , we did this by setting up 6 computers and having someone to take the picture as the object walked past them , we then put all of these images into one usb and went on a website which turns them into a GIF file.
Overall although we successfully completed creating the two motion pictures i personally think it would have been better if more computers were used because then we could have had more Frames Per Shot.

zeotrope
You insert the zeotrope strip which has images that tells a story and that includes a series of frames...
Then you spin the zeotrope and stair through the lines made on them, because there are gaps between the line its almost like were blinking and a new frame comes up. Reasons why things work like that is because the Retina :which is based at the back of our eyes , remembers the last image and then we end up seeing the next frame.
The advantages of a zeotrope is that it is really simple to use and it also animates on the other hand it has a circular narrative which limits the story.the Drum itself also limits amount of frames you can include in it..

comparing to idents
The BBC2 Zeotrope indent is presented in a better way compared to bbc1 because the audience generally like to go for something much simple yet attractive and the bbc1 indent did not have that.
Because bbc 2 generally known for broadcasting programs for the older generation they used the indent to change the publics thoughts on this , they did that by giving the indent a futuristic theme; for example in the indent you see futuristic buildings and flying cars and then you see the number to appear from a Zeotrope (one of the first ever devices used to create moving images) Doing this tells the audience although we are quite old school and traditional we will also broadcast programs for the younger generation and so we will have programs for everyone. On the other hand bbc1's indent was pretty complicated and didn't really explain much about bbc Brand, bbc one was one of the first channels to be broadcasted
