TASK 6 REVIEW REPORT

Over the past 5 weeks a lot of strategies were used in order for me to have a good outcome on my project and also learn for the future. Over the 5 weeks I applied a lot of independent learning to what I was doing because I realised that if in order to do well in the media industry it is not good to rely too much on others people knowledge, doing this also helped me discover more how to use the program and I was also able to translate my ideas in my editing. The target that I managed to complete successfully in the class was the target set on 16^th/09/11 and that was to ‘identify key purposes of blogging and create our own blogs’, the reason why i managed to easily complete this target is because overall I’m a very practical person and since the target was practical I really enjoyed it.

Looking at the learning logs I’ve realised that although I’m a very practical person i always leave things incomplete and rely on doing it in my spare time, because of this a lot of targets were delayed and rushed, on the other hand i realised that i applied a lot of creative thinking in what I was doing , this is really important because in the media industry you need to ne unique and very creative in order to stand out. In most of the targets that involved editing i found it really hard to use ICT, since this is my first confrontation with this editing program i struggled to understand how things worked but later on after using my listening skills I managed to learn the basics .what made this project quite simple and easy to do was that i was willing to learn and also find out new things.

I’ve learnt that although I’m a person that is willing to learn at all times, when i start to struggle if i do not get support i start to become lazy and wait until I get help, at times i try to do things myself but i get scared i may ruin my work for example in the editing stages, in the past i have never worked with video formats such as MOV because I’m not always around Mac computers, so I found it extremely difficult to import media files. One of the things that really let me down as a student is my concentration, because I’m such a co-operate and talkative person I may sometimes start conversations at unnecessary times leading me to not being fully concentrated on my work and because of this the outcome of my work may sometimes not be as good as it could be. At the moment i like the way everything is planned out for example my timetable because it gives me time to do other things than media , for example i also act and so I have to attend training and also have social time and study in my own time.

Throughout this project there are loads of key skills that i will be taking on for example being independent because in this world it’s every man for themselves so if I’m certain with what I’m doing then it’s all good .Improving my concentration is also a must because if not then I will miss out on all the important things and it will prevent me from being more of an affective learner. Being creative comes natural to me , i like to think out of the box so if i keep on using this skill in everything i do then i’m sure i will achieve the best of my ability.   

GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Video formats, eg. mov, avi,	Different layers of video transmission and storage. Different files have their own format depending where you save it from. The MOV format is a format designed mainly for Apple products. It’s appropriate for when you want to work on audio, video, effects, or text.
Streaming Radio Television Internet television	Multimedia is constantly received by and presented to an end user while being delivered by a streaming provider. An example of this is YouTube , more than one person can view a video at the same time.
File compression	Lets you reduce the overall number of bits and bytes in a file so it can be transmitted faster over slower internet connections or take up less space on your computer/disk.
Aspect ratios: 4:3, 16:9	Aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of the width of the image to its height expressed as two numbers separated by a colon.
Frame rates Frame frequency FPS	The rate of which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames, mostly expressed in frames per second.

Beginning to the song  “jay-z ft j.cole – star is born”	The camera fast forwards towards me, it stops fasting fast forwarding at a mid shot.
Hello my name is Pierre Marku and I hope to one day become a professional actor (as I finish saying this kanye west –stronger starts playing in the background)	From chest height, the camera is slowly panning upwards towards to my face leading it into a close up.
kanye west –stronger in the background I’m originally from the ivory coast for those of you that don’t know where that is let me make it easier for you…	I walk past the camera and as I’m doing so A text with my name follows on the center of the screen.   The camera is slowly crabbing towards  the right as I’m speaking into it and whilst that’s happening the animation with text is slowly coming of the screen
DROGBA!	I turn my head to the side to face the camera and as I say ‘Drogba’ an image of Drogba appears on the screen
Kanye west- stronger playing in the background	A filming of me being filmed and I’m talking into the cam at 150% speed then I start dancing.
Whilst kanye west –stronger is still playing in the backround I say, coming to great Britain at the age of 6 I found it really hard to communicate with others, so miming and acting out things I wanted was my only choice.	There’s a medium close up of me bopping my head to my music

video profile evaluation

From the feedbacks and comments I received I think my video profile was presented fairly well and I managed to get my message across to the audience.

When I first started filming my video profile, In my mind had a lot of ideas and effects I wanted to apply to it in order to make it stand out but due to the lack of time and effort I had to rush things in the last minute. The first 30secs of the video was things I had previously planned to include in my video profile but due to taking long to plan, other audio and visuals after that was thought of on the spot.

During the filming of my video profile a lot of improvisation and thinking on the spot was used, something in the video that gives it away is when I speak in the video there’s some stuttering and lack of confidence in my voice.

Something that made my video profile really stand out is the use of music, a lot of the comments on my video referred to how the music went well with what I was talking about and fir in perfectly and also how I made the right choice of songs.

In my video I tried my hardest to include the 5 shot rule to show my knowledge of the different shot angles but I tried to not overdo it and add in too much, from the comments the viewers were happy in the way I applied the shot types.

Overall I think my video profile was a successful project because I managed to get the message across to the audience, what could help improve my video is if next time I’m much more clear spoken.
